Key Design Concepts
Each space is a sensorial study in stillness. Light and shadow. Raw and polished.
Hidden and exposed. Nothing is incidental.
Surfaces are stripped to their essential form. Structures feel paused mid-process. Raw meets refined, inviting reflection on the unfinished and the real.
Time is made visible. A rusted mirror resists clarity. A shadow in stone lingers. Every surface suggests a past, a presence, a trace.
Maison Margiela’s signature white becomes a field for interpretation, nuanced, tonal, and ever-shifting. Travertine and plaster blend into chromatic silence.
That which is typically hidden – stitching, lining, the architecture of structure - is revealed, elevated to ornament.
A disruption of symmetry. A flash of neon. A mirrored surface that distorts. The familiar is abstracted, inviting inquiry over assumption.
Maison Margiela Residences reinterpret the idea of beauty in
architecture, replacing spectacle with intimacy, and opulence with
poetic restraint. Designed by Maison Margiela, these homes reimagine heritage through the lens of craft. Organic materials like travertine, marmorino, and brushed metal ground the spaces in quiet honesty, while sculpted finishes and tonal textures evoke an atmosphere of quiet
refinement.
Life here unfolds instinctively. Mornings begin in soft light, tracing delicate patterns across travertine and textile. Afternoons stretch into secluded corners, where a coffee at the lounge becomes a ritual of stillness and reflection. Evenings are composed like a private exhibit – a chef-prepared dinner, a cinematic pause, a gallery of memory unfolding within the intimacy of home.
This is not merely a residence, but a home attuned to your tempo. Services echo the philosophy of the space: deliberate, personal, understated.
From valet to in-residence massage to bespoke wardrobe curation, each gesture is defined by precision and subtle anticipation. Here, luxury is
not declared, it is deeply felt.
The interiors of Maison Margiela Residences were conceived in close dialogue with the Maison’s creative universe, translating its distinctive codes into a living environment.
Maison Margiela’s architects alongside Renzo Rosso and Carlo Colombo, have developed a bespoke furniture collection designed to embody the Maison’s creative DNA. The result is a complete ensemble – sofas,
armchairs, tables, chairs, beds, and lighting – crafted to create a seamless visual language between the building’s architecture and its interiors.
Carlo Colombo is an award-winning Italian architect and designer celebrated for his ability to merge modern elegance with functional innovation.
For Maison Margiela Residences, he has designed bespoke furniture pieces that integrate seamlessly into the interiors, reinforcing the dialogue between fashion, architecture, and living.
Within the residences, a curated furniture collection by designer Carlo Colombo complements Maison Margiela’s codes with architectural precision. Each piece – from sculptural tables to bespoke seating – is conceived as both function and statement, crafted exclusively for these interiors.
Working in dialogue with the Maison, Colombo’s designs echo the principles
of proportion, restraint, and material richness. Together, they create a seamless continuity between space and object, architecture and furniture – ensuring every detail feels intentional, every gesture refined.
An emblematic piece of the collection, the sofa’s organic curves and expressive fabric treatments make it instantly identifiable as Maison Margiela.
